Islami Bank Jashore Zone holds agent banking conference

Jashore Zone of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC organised the Agent Banking Business Development Conference and Workshop on the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Primary Teachers Training Institute Auditorium in Jashore. Obayed Ullah Al Masud, chairman of the bank, graced the program as the chief guest.

Mohammed Monirul Moula, managing director, presided over the program. In contrast, Md Maksudur Rahman, deputy managing director, and A K M Mahbub Morshed, head of the bank's Development Wing, addressed the program as special guests. Md. Shafiul Azam, head of Jashore Zone, Mohammad Rezaul Karim and Abul Laise Mohd. Khaled, executive vice president of the bank, also addressed the program. Heads of branches and proprietors of the agent banking outlets under the Jashore Zone attended the conference.

In his speech as the chief guest, Obayed Ullah Al Masud said that Islami Bank is providing services with success and trust, overcoming all the obstacles. All the Islami Bank's benevolent activities have spread across rural areas through agent outlets. Islami Bank's agent banking activities have gained popularity by initiating new schemes and products. Meanwhile, investment activities from the agent outlets have started. He also urged the proprietors of the agent outlets to provide banking services with honesty and efficiency, following proper banking rules and regulations.

In his speech as chair, Mohammed Monirul Moula said that Islami Bank's agent banking has been making a significant contribution to national development. Islami Bank is playing a role in the country's overall economy by providing investments tailored to the needs of agriculture, fisheries, small industries, and region-based businesses. The agent banking of Islami Bank delivers customer services using modern technology while adhering to Islamic Sharia principles and the regulations of the central bank. He told everyone concerned to keep this continuity.
