Banker killed in road crash in Dhaka

A man was killed after being hit by a pickup van in front of Rajlokkhi Market in the capital's Uttara today (22 February).
The deceased, Md Ibrahim Hossain, 32, was the son of Golam Kibria of Kashemganj village in Char Fashion upazila of Bhola.
He was an assistant officer (retail banking) at the Tejgaon branch of City Bank, his relatives said.
Confirming the incident, Uttara West Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Al Amin said the pickup van has been seized and its driver, Sohag Hossain, has been detained.
Md Azman, a pedestrian who brought Ibrahim to hospital after the accident, said Ibrahim was crossing the road in front of Rajlokkhi Market when a speeding pickup van hit him.
He was first taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition. Later, when he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment, the doctors declared him dead, Azman added.
