Two persons were shot to death and six others injured during a clash between two families in Khulna's Khan Jahan Ali area on Thursday night.

The deceased are Nazrul Islam and Md Golam Rasul of Mashiali village of the area.

Officer-in-charge of Fultala police station Md Monirul Islam confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.

Local people and police sources said that, there had been a longstanding feud between the Fakir and Sheikh families of the village. Following the dispute, they locked into a gunfight 8:30 pm, leaving eight people injured with bullets.

They were rushed to the Fultola upazila health complex, where doctor declared Nazrul and Golam Rasul dead.

Dr Tania of the hospital said, "Six other injured men have been sent to Khulna medical college and Hospital for better treatment."
