Jatiyo Party office again attacked, vandalised in Khulna
The incident occurred at the Dakbanglo intersection in the city.

The Jatiyo Party district office in Khulna was attacked and vandalised allegedly by activists of the Gono Odhikar Parishad this afternoon (3 September).
The incident occurred at the Dakbanglo intersection in the city.
The party organised a protest starting from the Shivbari intersection to condemn the recent attack on Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur.
According to locals, when their rally reached the Jatiyo Party office, they reportedly threw bricks and stones, damaging the main gate, signboard, and office furniture. Protesters also raised slogans demanding the ban of the party.
Khulna Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hawlader Sanwar Hussain Masum told The Business Standard, "The Jatiya Party office was vandalised by a group of people from the procession of Gono Odhikar Parishad in the afternoon."

"Legal action would be taken if a case is filed," the OC added.
Afterwards, the party activists moved their rally to Ferry Ghat intersection, staging a demonstration until 7pm, burning tires on the road and effigies of Jatiyo Party Chairman GM Quader.
About the vandalism, Jatiyo Party Khulna Metropolitan General Secretary Abdullah Al Mamun told TBS that the attack caused damages worth nearly Tk5 lakh. "The attackers looted office items, including chairs, tables, documents, door and window grills, and metal signboards," he claimed.

Later, in a statement, Gono Odhikar Parishad said the protest demanded justice for attacks on Nurul Haque Nur and party's leaders and activists, resignation of the home affairs adviser, and a ban on Jatiyo Party and 14-party alliance politics.
"During the rally, an agitated crowd demolished the Jatiyo Party office in front of our activists. Inside the Jatiyo Party office, the public discovered a cache of local weapons, including rods, cleavers, machetes, and knives and immediately presented them to the media," the statement added.
This is the second attack on the Jatiyo Party office in Khulna within a week. A similar incident occurred on 30 August after a Gono Odhikar Parishad rally.
