PRAN-RFL reveals sustainability report with 100% plastic recycling goal by 2030
PRAN-RFL Group has released its sustainability report for 2023 today (22 December), reflecting its commitment to improving current well-being and ensuring a sustainable future for all.
The report, themed "Nurturing Lives, Sustaining Tomorrow," outlines the group's comprehensive sustainability strategy, built on eight key pillars: product sustainability, packaging sustainability, agriculture, water, energy, human rights, diversity and inclusion, and giving back, says a press release.
The group's sustainability targets include: 100% alignment with UN SDGs, 100% plastic recycling by 2030, 90% dependence on locally sourced agricultural and dairy products, a 30% reduction in specific water consumption across all factories, a 20% reduction in energy usage, and ensuring 25% of energy consumed by factories comes from renewable sources.

The publication ceremony, held on Sunday evening in Gulshan, Dhaka, was attended by Md Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the Chief Adviser, as the chief guest, with Tapan Kumar Biswas, additional secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, as the special guest.
The event brought together policymakers, business leaders, bankers, and other stakeholders to celebrate this milestone in the company's journey towards environmental and social responsibility.
Md Shafiqul Alam praised PRAN-RFL Group for its sustainability initiative, emphasising its importance in today's business world. "By publishing this report, PRAN-RFL is setting a commendable example for the corporate sector. It reflects their forward-thinking approach to addressing global challenges while creating long-term value for society," he said.
Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, chairman and CEO of PRAN-RFL Group, highlighted the significance of the report. "This first sustainability report showcases our unwavering commitment to sustainability. It marks a crucial milestone in our journey, where the theme remains central to our goal of improving livelihoods and contributing to a cleaner, greener world," he said.
The event also featured two panel discussions: "Sustainable Agriculture: Practices, Challenges and the Way Forward" and "The Role of Corporate Leadership in Sustainability."
