Per kilogramme of onion is being sold at Tk200-260, our Satkhira correspondent reported today after visiting the market.

Amir Ali, a trader of the market, said, "Onion price will decrease once local onions arrive in the market."

Apart from onion, prices of other essential commodities have also risen, including garlic and potato.

"The price of per kilogramme of garlic has risen by Tk20, and that of potato by Tk10," said Fazlur.

Debashish Chowdhury, Satkhira Sadar upazila nirbahi officer, said, "We are regularly conducting drives against those who are manipulating the prices by stocking the commodities."
