9 arrested from gambling den in Satkhira

Nine individuals were arrested from a gambling den during a joint forces raid in the Palashpole area of Satkhira town last night (11 June).
According to police, the raid was conducted at the residence of Azahar Ali Robi in Palashpole following reports of regular gambling sessions being held there. Cash and various gambling-related items were also seized during the operation.
The detainees have been identified as Tuhin, 45, from Kulia village in Debhata, Alauddin, 60, from Lohakura village in Kalaroa, Atiar Rahman, 65, from Goyeshwarpur in Sadar upazila, Abu Taleb, 50, from Dhulihar, Jamaat Ali, 55, from Rasulpur area of the town, Abul Kalam, 57. from Old Satkhira, Azahar Ali, 67, from Palashpole, Nawab Ali, 60, from Kamalnagar, and Meher Ali, 52, from Baghachhra village in Jashore.

The house owner, Azahar Ali Robi, was also detained on charges of organising the gambling event in exchange for money.
