12 upcoming films awaiting release this year

The pandemic brought one of the most depressing years of our film industry in 2020. No film was released due to the countrywide lockdown, and closure of the cinema halls. Producers postponed the release of some big budget films despite earlier announcement at the beginning of the year. Now they are counting days in the new year and have already fixed the release date of some of their films. Several big budget films are going to be released on the coming Eid-ul-Fitr.

Operation Sundarbans

Dipankar Dipon triumphed several years back with his debut film Dhaka Attack. Audiences have been patiently waiting for his next film since then. Operation Sundarbans is going to be his second film. Riaz, Siam, Roshan, Nusrat Faria, Manoj, Shatabdi Wadud and many others have starred in it.

Mission Extreme

Mission Extreme was supposed to be released on Eid-ul-Fitr last year. But it was postponed due to the pandemic. A new date has been announced for the next Eid-ul-Fitr. The film is directed by Faisal Ahmed and Sunny Sanwar. Jannatul Ferdous Oishee and Arifin Shuvoo have played the lead roles of the film. There are also Taskin Rahman, Sadia Nabila and many others.

Bikshobha

The shooting of Bikshobha began last year. The film is produced by Shamim Ahmed Rony. Kolkata actress Srabanti Chatterjee and Shanto Khan are playing the lead roles in it. The film has an item song by Bollywood actress Sunny Leone. Bollywood actors Rahul Dev, Amit Hasan, Sanku Panja and others are also starring in the film.

Commando

Popular Bangladeshi director Shamim Ahmed Rony has directed the film Commando with a screenplay by Delwar Hossain Dil. The film is produced by Shapla Media, a Bangladeshi production company. The shooting of the film started in March last year but was later postponed due to the pandemic. The shooting started again after the lockdown.

The teaser of the film was released but only to be removed later due to the accusation of hurting religious sentiment. Kolkata movie star Dev is playing the lead role. This is the first time that Dev is acting in a Bangladeshi film. Zahara Mitu is starring with him. The film will be released in 2021.

Sphulingo

Actor and director Taukir Ahmed has started shooting for his new film Sphulingo a few days ago. The film, made on the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu, will be released this year. Zakia Bari Mom, Parimani, Shyamal Mawla and Fazlur Rahman Babu are playing the major roles in the film.

Paap-Punya

Paap-Punya is the third film of Gias Uddin Selim. The director said that the movie will be released this year. Afsana Mimi, Chanchal Chowdhury, Siam Ahmed, Sharmin Sumi and others have acted in this film. It is produced by Impress Telefilm.

Beauty Circus

The government-sponsored film 'Beauty Circus' directed by Mahmud Didar is likely to be released this year. The film stars Jaya Ahsan and Ferdous. The shooting of the film has completed after being started four years ago. The film is produced by Impress Telefilm with a government grant.

Shaan

Viewers have a keen interest in this action thriller. Though it was supposed to be released on Eid last year, it was delayed due to the pandemic. The coming Eid has been set for the new release date. Siam Ahmed, Taskin Rahman, Pooja Cheri, Alamgir, Champa, Aruna Biswas and others have acted in Shaan directed by M Rahim.

Hawa

Mezbauer Rahman Sumon is coming up with his debut film Hawa this year. The shooting of the film has already been completed. Chanchal Chowdhury, Nazifa Tusi and Shariful Raj are starring the film. The dubbing and editing work of the film is going on.

Casino

Shabnam Bubli has played the lead role along with Nirob in Casino. The film was directed by Saikat Nasir. The shooting and editing of the film have already been completed. It will be released this year.

The movie '570' directed by Ashraf Shishir is likely to be released on March 18. The film is based on the 36 hours after the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family. Bappi Chowdhury played the lead role in this film.

Paran

The movie 'Paran' directed by young producer Raihan Rafi is awaiting release. Its teaser was released last year. The film, produced by Live Technologies, stars Vidya Sinha Mim, Shariful Raj and Yash Rohan in the lead roles.
