Sheikh Mujib's residence on Dhanmondi-32 has been demolished as an agitated crowd brought bulldozers to the scene describing the building as a symbol of "authoritarianism and fascism".
The building was half demolished when the crowd took a break for a few hours deep into the night. People newly gathered at the location and started demolishing whatever's left of the building after 7am.

Sudha Sadan, the residence of Hasina's late husband Dr MA Wazed Miah, was also set on fire by another group. This building is located on Road 5 in Dhanmondi.
