Mayor announces 15% surcharge waiver on due holding taxes

Considering the pandemic-induced financial crises, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Md Atiqul Islam has announced a conditional waiver of the 15% surcharge on due holding taxes.
The waiver will be applicable to a house owner if he or she clears the dues of the current fiscal year, plus previous unpaid amounts altogether by 30 June this year, he told a discussion Monday at Nagar Bhaban in Dhaka's Gulshan.
Mayor Atiqul urged the taxpayers to avail the limited facility. He said Dhaka north's zonal revenue offices will remain open on weekends (Saturday) too to facilitate the collection.
