UCB supports healthcare initiative to protect future doctors

United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB), one of the leading financial institutions in Bangladesh, has partnered with Sandhani, Dhaka Medical College Unit, to launch a Hepatitis B vaccination programme for nearly 500 students of Dhaka Medical College.
The initiative reflects UCB's strong commitment to corporate social responsibility and public health.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Shaheed Dr Shamsul Alam Khan Milon Auditorium of Dhaka Medical College. Professor Dr Md Kamrul Alam, Principal of Dhaka Medical College, attended as the Chief Guest. Special Guests included Professor Dr Faruq Ahmed, Vice Principal of the College, and Professor Dr Abdul Hanif (Tablu), Head of the Department of Neonatal Surgery.
Representing UCB, Chief Communication Officer Zeeshan Kingshuk Haque joined officials from both institutions. On behalf of Sandhani, welcome speeches were delivered by Ishteaque Mohammad Taskin, President of Sandhani Dhaka Medical College Unit, and General Secretary Dipto Noor Kallol. Professor Dr Zia Uddin Ahmed from the Division of Nephrology at Temple University, USA, joined virtually.
In his remarks, Chief Guest Professor Dr Md Kamrul Alam praised UCB's support for the campaign, saying: "This vaccination programme will help protect thousands of our future healthcare professionals. UCB's commitment to social responsibility is truly commendable and sets a remarkable example for other institutions in the country."
Speaking on behalf of UCB, Zeeshan Kingshuk Haque, Chief Communication Officer, said: "This vaccine will serve as protective armour for the frontline warriors in the battle to save lives in the future. We are proud to stand beside medical students in safeguarding their health through such a noble initiative."
