Frames of Freedom: BUFT hosts national photography exhibition
BGMEA University of Fashin and Technology (BUFT) Photography Club successfully concluded the BUFT National Photography Exhibition 2025, titled "Frames of Freedom of BUFT", at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
Presented by Giant Group, powered by Fashion Step Bangladesh and co-powered by PUSAB and S&A Associates, the national-level exhibition featured a three-day showcase held on 18, 21 and 22 December, 2025. The exhibition displayed 130 photographs selected through a rigorous judging process from a total of 7,661 submissions received from across the country, celebrating visual storytelling, creative freedom and contemporary photographic excellence.
The exhibition formally concluded with a prize-giving ceremony held on 12 January, 2026. Chairman of the Board of Trustees of BUFT Faruque Hassan; Adviser of BUFT Professor Dr Engineer Ayub Nabi Khan; Acting Vice Chancellor of BUFT Professor Dr Md Alamgir Hossain; Director of Giant Group Sharmin Hassan; Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Rezauddin Stalin; and President of PUSAB Abdullah Al Mahfuz Zakaria addressed the gathering.
The chief guest at the closing ceremony was Adviser to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, who highlighted photography as a powerful medium for cultural expression and social reflection. Awards were presented in categories including Best Photograph, Jury Award and Special Mentions, followed by cultural performances and the formal recognition of sponsors and partners.
The exhibition was inaugurated on 18 December, 2025 by Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of BUFT, who attended as the chief guest. President of the Bangladesh Photographic Society Yousuf Tushar attended as guest of honour. Adviser of BUFT Professor Dr Ayub Nabi Khan; Registrar of BUFT Rafiquzzaman; Director of Public Relations of BUFT Mohammad Imtiaj; and Adviser of the BUFT Photography Club Rayed Barkat were present as special guests.
Following the inauguration, the guests toured the exhibition galleries and praised the artistic depth, technical merit and narrative strength of the photographs on display. On 21 December, the exhibition was opened to the public and received an enthusiastic response from photography enthusiasts, students, professionals and art lovers.
The BUFT Photography Club expressed gratitude to all guests, photographers, sponsors, partners and visitors whose support and participation made Frames of Freedom of BUFT National Photography Exhibition 2025 a meaningful and memorable celebration of photographic art in Bangladesh.
