UCB honours drivers through road safety awareness workshop

United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) has organised a special awareness workshop to honour its drivers and promote safer roads, marking National Road Safety Day 2025.
Held at the bank's head office, the session aimed to enhance drivers' understanding of safe driving practices, traffic laws and vehicle maintenance—fostering a stronger sense of responsibility to ensure safer journeys for all.
Experienced trainers from the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) and Gulshan Traffic Division conducted the session, discussing key aspects of road safety such as maintaining speed limits, following traffic rules and adopting preventive measures against accidents. Their real-life examples and insights encouraged participants to apply safety-conscious habits in their daily driving.
Speaking at the event, Mr Md Abdullah Al Mamoon, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of UCB, and Mr Syed Hasnain Mamun, Chief Human Resource Officer, emphasised the crucial role of drivers in safeguarding lives on the road. The session was also attended by the chief security officer, head of general services department, members of the transport team, representatives from the human resources division and other officials.
The initiative reflects UCB's ongoing commitment to promoting road safety and responsible behaviour. The bank reiterated its belief that regular training and awareness can significantly reduce accidents and contribute to building a safer, more conscientious Bangladesh.
