UCB concludes entrepreneurship development programme in Bogura

United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) has successfully concluded a month-long Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) in Bogura, designed to empower aspiring and existing entrepreneurs currently outside the formal banking and financial network. The initiative was implemented with the support of Bangladesh Bank under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (SICIP), an initiative of the Ministry of Finance, Government of Bangladesh.
The intensive 100-hour training programme focused on developing essential entrepreneurial capabilities, improving business management skills, and fostering financial inclusion among participants from the Bogura region. This effort reflects UCB's ongoing commitment to advancing SME development and supporting grassroots economic empowerment.
The closing ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Md Shakhawat Hossain, Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank; Mohammad Wasim, Joint Director, Bangladesh Bank; Md Ariful Islam, Deputy Director and Programme Coordinator, SICIP-PIU, SMESPD, Bangladesh Bank; Md Rashidul Islam, General Manager, Sonali Bank PLC; Md Shah Alam Bhuiyan, Deputy Managing Director, UCB; and Mohammad Salim Chowdhury, Head of SME and Agri Banking Division, UCB, along with other senior officials from UCB and local entrepreneurs.
