Toffee rolls out election hub for real-time voter updates
Toffee has launched 'Election Corner: Voter Hawa' within its app as Bangladesh approaches the upcoming national election, aiming to provide citizens with real-time information and credible election-related news through a single digital platform.
The dedicated section aggregates verified election content through partnerships with leading national news organisations, ensuring timely and trustworthy coverage at a time when access to accurate information is critical. Toffee said the initiative reflects its people-first approach by simplifying how users stay informed during the election period, anytime and anywhere.
As part of the initiative, Toffee has onboarded all major linear television channels onto its platform, creating a comprehensive digital utility for voters. The election corner features a real-time election countdown and 24/7 live news streaming from leading local television news channels.
In addition to live broadcasts, users can access curated news video updates offering short, easy-to-consume highlights, alongside in-depth articles featuring analysis and detailed reports on key political issues and developments. The section also includes an interactive poll, allowing users to share opinions and reflect broader public sentiment during the election period.
Through the initiative, Toffee said it aims to play a constructive role in the democratic process by combining technology, content, and interactivity to help citizens remain informed throughout the election cycle.
Commenting on the launch, Taimur Rahman, chief corporate and regulatory affairs officer of Banglalink, said, "Access to credible information is essential for meaningful civic participation. Through Toffee's election corner, we are using digital platforms responsibly to bring verified news, insights, and engagement tools into a unified experience. Our goal is to make trusted election information accessible nationwide while continuing to improve the platform based on user feedback."
