SUST to host first tedx event in september
Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet, will host its first TEDx event, TEDxSUST 2025, on September 4 at the central auditorium.
Licensed by TED, this independently organised event marks a milestone for the university, bringing global conversations into a local context.
This year's theme, SAPIEN-Ware, explores the intersection of humanity and technology in the context of artificial intelligence and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, with a focus on ethics, empathy, and the evolving nature of truth.
The full-day event will feature a diverse lineup of speakers from the technology, academic, entrepreneurial, and creative arts sectors. Discussions will range from innovative solutions to human-centred storytelling, offering thought-provoking ideas that bridge local experiences with global relevance.
Organisers expect TEDxSUST 2025 to serve as a platform for exchanging ideas and sparking meaningful dialogue, bringing together students, professionals, and change-makers. Rooted in TED's global motto, "Ideas Worth Spreading," the event aims to showcase stories that resonate both locally and globally.
