LNG supply rises to 750 mmcf as Excelerate resumes operations
A Petrobangla report showed local gas production at 1,613 mmcfd, bringing total national gas supply to 2,364 mmcfd.
LNG supply to the national gas grid rose to 747 million cubic feet today (15 August) after Excelerate Energy's floating LNG terminal in Moheshkhali resumed partial operations at 1:45am following a technical disruption yesterday, a Petrobangla official said.
According to Petrobangla's latest operational report, LNG supply to the national gas grid stood at 747 mmcf at 8am.
Engr Md Shoyeb, director of the Production Sharing Contract Division and also in charge of the Operation and Maintenance Division at Petrobangla, said Summit LNG is supplying nearly 500 mmcf, with Excelerate supplying the remainder.

The report also showed local gas production at 1,613 mmcfd, bringing total national gas supply to 2,364 mmcfd at the time.
Excelerate's floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) went offline yesterday afternoon due to a technical problem, temporarily disrupting LNG supply to the national gas grid.
Meanwhile, Summit LNG Terminal resumed operations yesterday evening, restoring the supply of regasified LNG (R-LNG) to the national grid after a brief disruption the previous day caused by cargo-berthing difficulties.
The Summit and Excelerate LNG terminals have a combined regasification capacity of 1,100 mmcfd. However, their full capacity has remained unavailable due to recent operational disruptions.
Excelerate's FSRU was affected by a fire on 21 July, while Summit has faced difficulties receiving LNG cargoes due to issues related to LNG carrier types.
