Square Air and Novo air re-elects presidents

The 12th Annual General Meeting of the Aviation Operators Association of Bangladesh (AOAB), the only organisation of private aviation owners, was held on 22nd February 2025 at the Samson Centre.
Mr. Anjan Chowdhury, President of AOAB and Managing Director of Square Air Limited, presided over the meeting.
After the Annual General Meeting, the names of the 13 elected members of the Executive Committee were announced. The committee elected Mr. Anjan Chowdhury of Square Air Limited as President, Mr Mofizur Rahman, Managing Director of NOVOAIR Limited as Secretary General, Mr Mostafa Kamal, Chairman of Meghna Aviation Limited as Vice President-1, Mr Abdullah Al Mamun, Chairman of US Bangla Airlines Limited as Vice President-2, Mr Z Mahmud Mamun, Managing Director of Impress Aviation Limited as Treasurer, Mr Abdullah Al Zahir Shapan of Blue Flying Academy Limited as Joint Secretary, Mr Raquibul Kabir of Bangla International Airlines Limited as Organizing Secretary, Mr Mohammad Arifur Rahman of Sky Capital Airlines Limited as Publication Secretary and Mr Khandaker AFM Mohibullah, Managing Director of South Asian Airlines Limited, Mr Safwan Sobhan, Managing Director of Bashundhara Airways Limited, Mr Parvez Rahman, Managing Director of BRB Air Limited, Mr. Mohammad Yunus, Chairman of Galaxy Flying Academy Limited as members,
Mr Mofizur Rahman, Mr Z. Mahmud Mamun, and Mr Khandaker AFM Mohibullah attended the meeting. Also present were Mr ASM Mustafizul Haque, Chief Operating Officer of Bashundhara Airways, Mr JM Mostafizur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of Sky Capital Airlines, Mr Gulzar Hossain, Chief Operating Officer of Beximco Aviation, and many other reputed personnel.
The president said, "The country's aviation industry is currently going through difficult times, so we all must work together". The Secretary-General also said, "The price of jet fuel, customs complications and various fees and surcharges imposed by the Civil Aviation Authority at high rates have put the owners of this sector in great distress".
The members at the meeting said that to sustain the aviation industry, sincere cooperation from various government ministries, such as the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and the Ministry of Finance and different organisations, including Civil Aviation, is required.
