Brac Bank names first CIO to lead digital transformation drive
BRAC Bank has appointed A S M Wasi Noman as additional managing director and chief information officer (CIO), according to the bank, as part of its digital transformation agenda.
As the bank's first CIO, Noman will lead enterprise-wide technology strategy and digital innovation to strengthen operations, improve customer experience, and build future-ready capabilities. As a member of the management committee, he will oversee technology and digital banking functions, according to the bank.
BRAC Bank said Noman brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across banking, telecommunications, IT services, automation, and business process outsourcing. He has held senior roles including chief information officer, chief technology officer, chief operating officer, and deputy managing director at local and global organisations.
Before joining BRAC Bank, he served as deputy managing director and chief information officer at MetLife Bangladesh. He has also worked at Accenture, Grameenphone, GPIT, Standard Bank, Kernel Systems, and Beximco Computers. He previously served as chief technology officer of BRAC Bank from 2019 to 2021.

Wasi Noman's extensive global and cross-industry experience will be instrumental in advancing our digital transformation. Noman holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, and a BSc in computer science and engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He also completed an executive MBA for technical professionals from Falconbury Institute in London, according to the bank.
