Southeast Bank holds annual agent banking conference 2026
Southeast Bank PLC recently organised the Annual Agent Banking Conference 2026 for its Dhaka Zone, bringing together agent partners and senior bank officials to review performance, and outline future strategies.
M A Kashem, chairman of Southeast Bank PLC, attended the conference as chief guest, while Md Khalid Mahmood Khan, managing director of the bank, was present as special guest.
All 84 agent partners from Southeast Bank's agent banking outlets in the Dhaka Zone participated in the conference. Senior executives from the head office, and heads of tagged branches, were also present, making the event a key platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
During the conference, participants reviewed the overall progress of the bank's Agent Banking Division for 2025, and discussed policies and strategic plans aimed at achieving the division's business targets for 2026.
Southeast Bank launched its agent banking service, 'Shagotom', on 7 March 2021, with the objective of expanding banking services to unbanked populations, particularly small entrepreneurs, school banking customers, and farmers, in line with the country's financial inclusion goals. The service provides both conventional and 'Tijarah'-based Islamic banking facilities.
Through Southeast Bank Agent Banking 'Shagotom', customers can access a wide range of services, including savings and current account opening, cash deposit and withdrawal, fund transfers, BEFTN and RTGS transactions, foreign remittance collection, cheque book and debit or credit card processing, micro, medium, and agricultural loans, utility bill payments, loan instalments, government allowance disbursement, and internet banking services.
Customers can also avail themselves of round-the-clock banking services through recycler ATMs installed at agent outlets.
