Southeast Bank appoints new Managing Director and CEO

Md Khalid Mahmood Khan has joined Southeast Bank PLC as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective Thursday, 27 November 2025. Before joining Southeast Bank, he served as Additional Managing Director and Chief Business Officer at Mutual Trust Bank PLC.

During his twenty-six years at Mutual Trust Bank, he held several key leadership roles, including Senior Executive Vice-President and Head of Wholesale Banking Division–02. He also served as Manager of three major branches—Principal, Dilkusha, and Panthapath—for a combined thirteen years.

Md Khalid Mahmood Khan graduated from the University of Dhaka and later obtained an MBA. He began his career at Agrani Bank PLC as a probationary officer in 1994. With thirty-one years of frontline banking experience, he has extensive expertise in managing diverse customer segments, including corporate clients, financial institutions, local corporates, and SME and retail banking. His operational experience spans lending, recovery, international trade, foreign exchange, and general banking.

He has also participated in numerous local and international training programmes and conferences, which have contributed to his development as a seasoned banking professional.
