‘Sound Within Stillness’—solo exhibition of Farzana Rahman Bobby opens at AFD

The second solo art exhibition of Farzana Rahman Bobby, entitled 'Sound Within Stillness', opened on Thursday at La Galerie, Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD), Dhanmondi.
Eminent artist Monirul Islam inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest, while Nahid Mahatab, art connoisseur; Javed Jalil, artist and writer; and Muntasir Moin, founder of the Moin Foundation, attended as special guests.
The exhibition will remain open to visitors from 3pm to 9pm, Monday to Saturday, until 8 November 2025.
'Sound Within Stillness' takes viewers on an immersive journey into the subtle rhythms of nature and life. Rooted in Bobby's deep connection with the natural world, the exhibition explores the harmony between stillness and motion, silence and resonance.
Through her mixed-media works, she incorporates organic elements such as leaves, roots and trees—transforming them into visual meditations that reflect both nature's nurturing essence and the fragility of the environment in the face of modern challenges.
Using layered textures, fluid patterns and natural motifs, Bobby combines diverse printmaking and mixed-media techniques to evoke the interconnectedness of all living beings. Her canvases invite viewers to pause, reflect and sense the quiet pulse of life that persists within stillness—where silence finds its own voice.
