Meghna Group invests Tk300 crore to launch Fresh Sanitaryware
Meghna Ceramic Industries Limited has invested around Tk300 crore to launch Fresh Sanitaryware, expanding Meghna Group of Industries' presence in Bangladesh's building materials market.
The company formally unveiled the product line at its factory in Ashariachar, Narayanganj, on 22 August, according to a press release.
The factory can produce around 60,000 pieces a month and has created employment opportunities for more than 600 people.
Fresh Sanitaryware, launched with the tagline "Flawlessly Fresh", features products designed to offer greater whiteness, gloss, glaze hardness and durability, the company said.
Meghna Group of Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mostafa Kamal unveiled the product line with Vice Chairman Beauty Akter, Directors Tahmina Mostafa, Tanjima Mostafa and Tanveer Mostafa, and Meghna Ceramic Chief Operating Officer AKM Ziaul Islam.
Mostafa said the group introduced Fresh Sanitaryware after launching Fresh Ceramics in 2021.
"By placing the highest importance on quality, uninterrupted supply and customer trust, we aim to establish Fresh Sanitaryware as a reliable brand in the sector," he said.
The company is initially offering six pedestal basins, two one-piece and three two-piece commodes, and three squatting pans. It will initially offer the products in white, with more colours and designs planned based on customer demand.
Meghna Ceramic said the products were manufactured using modern technology, quality glaze materials and high-quality finishing.
All raw materials are currently imported from Thailand, Malaysia, Egypt, India, Germany and China. The company plans to add table-top basins, urinals and other products to the range.
Meghna Group Director Tanjima Mostafa said growing demand for greater choice and reliability prompted the company to enter the sanitaryware market.
"Launching Fresh Sanitaryware strengthens our position by emphasising product quality, design and performance. Our goal is to offer more solutions for modern homes and buildings," she said.
Besides ceramics and sanitaryware, Meghna Group's building materials portfolio includes cement, steel, bricks, blocks and construction stone.
