MetLife Bangladesh settles Tk 1,396 crore in claims in first half of 2025
MetLife Bangladesh has settled Tk 1,396 crore in insurance claims during the first half of 2025 (January–June), reflecting its continued commitment to timely and efficient claims settlement. The amount includes payouts for life insurance benefits as well as claims related to death and medical needs.
Ala Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer of MetLife Bangladesh, said, "The most important part of a customer's insurance journey is receiving their claims. That's why we focus on making the process faster, simpler, and more transparent. When customers are aware of how their insurer is settling claims, it helps them stay confident and builds stronger trust in both MetLife and the broader insurance sector."
Breakdown of the claims settled shows Tk 146 crore paid for health and medical expenses, Tk 55 crore for death claims, and Tk 1,195 crore for maturity, partial maturity, and other policy benefits.
The company maintained its track record as a market leader in claims settlement. In 2024, MetLife Bangladesh settled the highest claims amount of Tk 2,895 crore among all life insurers in the country.
MetLife customers can submit claims online and receive payouts within 3 to 5 working days, ensuring a seamless experience. This efficiency has contributed to high levels of customer satisfaction and growing trust in the insurance industry.
In Bangladesh, MetLife serves around 1 million individual customers and over 900 corporate clients.
