Md. Hanif Miah appointed as new Director of Karmasangsthan Bank

Mr. Md. Hanif Miah, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, has been appointed as a Director on the Board of Directors of Karmasangsthan Bank. His appointment, effective for a three-year term, was formalized by a notification from the Ministry of Finance, Financial Institutions Division, dated 15 October 2024.

Mr. Md. Hanif began his career as an Assistant Director at Bangladesh Bank's Barishal Office in the Internal Audit Department and Staff Section after successfully completing a nine-month foundation training on 20 August 1996. He later moved to the Agriculture Credit Inspection Department at the Head Office in 1999. Throughout his career, he has served in key departments including the Internal Audit and Inspection Department, Department of Financial Institutions (DFI), and the Equity and Entrepreneurship Fund Unit (EEFU) of Bangladesh Bank. He was promoted to General Manager (GM) in 2020, serving in the Integrated Supervision Management Department (ISMD) and at the Bangladesh Bank, Khulna office. Since 8 July 2024, he has been working as the Executive Director of BBTA.

Mr. Md. Hanif has also shared his expertise as a visiting faculty member in several private universities and one institute between November 2005 and March 2020, where he taught various subjects such as Financial Institutions and Markets, Financial Management, and Money and Banking in evening MBA/EMBA programs.

Born on 25 March 1969 into a respectable Muslim family, Mr. Md. Hanif Miah holds an MBA from Northern University Bangladesh and an M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry & Chemical Technology from the University of Dhaka. He is also a diplomate associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (IBB).
