Kisti plans Bangladesh launch of interest-free BNPL platform
Homegrown fintech startup Kisti plans to launch an interest-free Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) platform in Bangladesh in August or September 2026, offering instalment-based financing to consumers and upfront payments to merchants.
Its flagship service, Pay in 4, will allow customers to divide eligible purchases into four equal, interest-free instalments, according to a press release.
Merchants will receive the full purchase amount upfront, which the company said would help improve their cash flow.
Kisti said the platform had been developed for Bangladesh's expanding mobile financial services ecosystem as an alternative to credit card-based instalment facilities.
The company aims to broaden access to formal consumer financing via digital payment channels consumers already use.
It said customers who made repayments on time would be able to establish a digital repayment history, which could potentially improve their access to financial services in the future.
Kisti said the platform could also help merchants increase sales conversion and average order values while providing customers with a smoother checkout experience. It positioned the service as transparent, without hidden interest charges.
Founded by MD Tasin Tyson, Kisti also plans to expand into other Asian markets as part of its long-term growth strategy.
"We're not here to fit into the system. We're here to change it. Kisti makes credit interest-free, transparent and fair, and we're starting in Bangladesh to take it across Asia," Tyson said.
Following its launch in Bangladesh, the company plans to explore expansion opportunities in Nepal and Malaysia.
Kisti said it aimed to promote greater financial inclusion by widening access to interest-free digital consumer financing.
