FIFA world cup trophy to arrive in Dhaka in January 2026
The Coca-Cola Company has announced that the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will arrive in Dhaka on 14 January 2026, giving football fans in Bangladesh the opportunity to see the original FIFA World Cup Trophy ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The global tour aims to bring fans closer to football's most coveted prize. Mickael Vinet, vice president, global assets, influencers and partnerships at The Coca-Cola Company, said the initiative allows fans to experience the emotions and excitement associated with the world's biggest sporting event.
"We are excited to bring fans closer to the heart of the action with the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola. This tour offers an incredible opportunity to experience the thrill and connection of football up close," he said, adding that bringing the original trophy to Bangladesh will help build anticipation ahead of the tournament.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to be the largest in history, jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States, featuring more teams, more matches and expanded celebrations. During its global journey, the trophy tour will visit 30 FIFA member associations, making 75 stops over 150 days.
FIFA Chief Business Officer Romy Gai said the FIFA World Cup Trophy is one of the most recognised symbols in global sport and highlighted Coca-Cola's two-decade-long partnership with FIFA in bringing the trophy to fans worldwide. He noted that the upcoming tour will mark the 20th anniversary of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola while building momentum for the largest World Cup ever.
As part of the initiative, Coca-Cola has launched an interactive "Under the Cap" promotional campaign in Bangladesh. Football fans can participate by purchasing one-litre Coca-Cola promotional packs and scanning the QR code on the label. Participants must submit a unique code found under the cap and correctly answer a FIFA-themed quiz. The fastest correct participants each hour will win tickets to view the trophy and take commemorative photographs. The campaign runs from 15 November 2025 to 8 January 2026, with participants eligible to win once every 90 minutes.
The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will also support sustainability initiatives, including packaging collection and recycling, in collaboration with local teams and bottling partners.
Coca-Cola has been a partner of FIFA since 1976 and an official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup since 1978, holding exclusive rights to the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola.
