On the occasion of Sundarbans Day, leading environmental and research organisations have announced the Sundarbans Summit 2026, describing it as a national platform to strengthen conservation of the world's largest mangrove forest and foster collective climate action.
The summit will be held in Khulna and the Sundarbans from 23 to 25 April 2026, and is expected to bring together policymakers, researchers, youth activists, environmental experts, development partners, and representatives of local communities, according to organisers.

Organisers stated that the summit aims to strengthen policy dialogue, innovation, youth participation, and community-based conservation to safeguard the Sundarbans and the lives and livelihoods of the communities that depend on it.
Ahsan Rony, Founder and Executive Director of Mission Green Bangladesh, stated that the summit is intended to build broader engagement around Sundarbans protection.
Raufa Khanam, Deputy Director of C3ER at BRAC University, stated that the summit would provide a platform to showcase work on nature-based solutions in coastal Sundarbans areas and strengthen a collective conservation push.
