Eastern University welcomes new students at Fall 2025 orientation
The Freshers' Orientation for the autumn 2025 semester was held on 26 October 2025 at the permanent campus of Eastern University in Dhaka, warmly welcoming newly admitted students to the university community.
The event was presided over by Professor Dr Farid Ahmad Sobhani, Vice-Chancellor of Eastern University, while Professor Dr A S M Amanullah, Vice-Chancellor of the National University, attended as chief guest. Professor Dr A B M Shahidul Islam and Mohammad Ali Azzam, members of the Board of Trustees of Eastern University, were present as special guests.
In their remarks, the guests encouraged students to become attentive, ethical, and professionally skilled citizens, highlighting the importance of higher education in building leadership and contributing to national development.

Among others, Professor Md Shamsul Huda, Treasurer of Eastern University; Dr Abul Basher Khan, Registrar; Professor Dr Md Mahfuzur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; Professor Dr M Sayedur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration; and Assistant Professor Md Rofiusssan, Chairperson of the Department of English, also addressed the programme.
They expressed gratitude to the guests, teachers, officials, and students, extending best wishes to the new entrants for a successful academic journey.
The orientation familiarised students with the university's academic structure, student services, and extracurricular opportunities, including various clubs and campus activities. The event concluded with a colourful cultural performance by Eastern University students, marking a vibrant beginning to the new academic year.
