City Bank publishes ISSB-aligned Climate Report 2024
City Bank PLC has released its Climate Report 2024, aligned with the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) frameworks — IFRS S1 (General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information) and IFRS S2 (Climate-related Disclosures).
The report aims to provide investors, regulators, and stakeholders with transparent, decision-useful information on how sustainability and climate-related risks and opportunities are integrated into the bank's governance, risk management, and strategic planning processes.
It details City Bank's governance structure for sustainability oversight, outlines its strategies for building a resilient business model in the face of climate change, and highlights progress in decarbonization, climate risk assessment, and sustainable finance. The report also includes the metrics and targets guiding the bank's progress towards net-zero goals and its preparedness for a climate-conscious future.
"We recognise the growing expectations from regulators, investors, and stakeholders for greater transparency regarding sustainability and climate-related risk management," said Mashrur Arefin, Managing Director and CEO of City Bank PLC. "By aligning with IFRS S1 and S2, City Bank is reinforcing its accountability framework and commitment to a sustainable, climate-resilient future."
