DIU marks Parents’ Day 2025 with students and families
Daffodil International University (DIU) is celebrating Parents' Day 2025 today, 12 December, at its Daffodil Smart City campus, bringing together students, parents, and faculty in a day-long programme focused on family values, emotional bonding, and holistic education.
Organised by the Art of Living (AOL) programme under the Office of Students' Affairs, the event has drawn more than 2,000 students and their parents, creating an atmosphere of gratitude, reflection, and togetherness across the campus.
Renowned actor, writer, and cultural figure Abul Hayat attended the programme as chief guest. In his address, he stated that parents are the first teachers in a child's life and that family-taught values remain a young person's greatest strength, regardless of how the world changes. He praised DIU's approach to blending humanity with modern education.
DIU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr M R Kabir stated that Parents' Day highlights the role families play behind every student's success, and reaffirmed the university's commitment to nurturing character, empathy, and responsibility alongside academic learning.
Founder and Chairman of DIU, Dr Md Sabur Khan, stated that education goes beyond textbooks and must be a shared journey involving family, community, and values that prepare students to lead society with integrity and ethics.
The programme includes cultural performances, interactive parent–teacher–student sessions, gratitude activities, and a symbolic feet-washing ceremony. Parents are also touring campus facilities and engaging with university officials on students' academic and personal development.
