Syngenta inaugurates second Farmer School in Rajshahi
Syngenta Bangladesh has inaugurated its second Farmer School at Nimpara Union in Charghat, Rajshahi, on 11 December, in collaboration with the local government, aiming to strengthen skills and promote sustainable farming practices among marginal farmers.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Md Rahatul Karim Mizan, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Charghat, as chief guest. The programme was chaired by Md Mizanur Rahman, Chairman of Nimpara Union Parishad. Hedayet Ullah, Managing Director of Syngenta Bangladesh Limited, attended as special guest.
Mohammed Shahidul Islam, Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Syngenta Bangladesh, delivered the opening remarks, outlining the objectives of the Farmer School initiative and its role in strengthening the farming ecosystem.
The Syngenta Farmer School functions as an integrated learning and awareness hub, providing farmers with modern agricultural knowledge, practical skills, and access to information aimed at improving productivity and sustainability.
Syngenta launched its first Farmer School at Sardah Union in Charghat in 2023. According to the company, the initiative has since benefited more than 1,500 farmers across 14 villages by improving crop yields and supporting higher household incomes.
