Digital Device and Innovation Expo 2026 to be held in January
The Digital Device and Innovation Expo 2026 is set to be held in Bangladesh, aiming to showcase the country's latest technological innovations, capabilities, achievements and potential in the information technology sector to both national and international audiences, while promoting entrepreneurship and attracting investment.
Details were shared at a press conference held today at the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) auditorium in Agargaon, Dhaka, by Sheesh Haider Chowdhury, NDC, Secretary of the ICT Division.
Under the theme "Bangladesh to the World", the three-day expo will begin on 29 January 2026 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre and will run until 31 January 2026. The event is jointly organised by the ICT Division, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority and Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS).
Speaking at the press conference, Sheesh Haider Chowdhury said citizens of Bangladesh are increasingly adopting digital devices, reflecting positive progress in technological advancement. He said digital transformation is an ongoing process and Bangladesh has already made notable strides in this journey, adding that further initiatives are being taken to accelerate the process.
Md Mamunur Rashid Bhuiyan, Managing Director and Additional Secretary of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, said special emphasis has been placed on attracting both local and foreign investment at this year's expo. He said the event aims to present Bangladesh as a potential global destination for technology product manufacturing and research.
The Secretary General of Bangladesh Computer Samity said around 300,000 visitors are expected at the expo. He said the exhibition will feature local technology product manufacturers, international brand distributors, start-up companies and innovations from public and private universities. Various seminars, panel discussions and policy-level dialogues on ICT sector development will also be organised in collaboration with international organisations.
At the press conference, Muhammad Monirul Islam, Secretary General of BCS, presented detailed information about the expo through a multimedia presentation.
The exhibition will cover around 6,500 square metres at the venue, comprising multiple halls and thematic zones. These will include areas dedicated to local manufacturers, product showcases, innovation, digital lifestyle, international manufacturers, mega sales, seminars and business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking.
He also said the new logo of the Digital Device and Innovation Expo 2026 features a clenched fist, symbolising the core philosophy of the expo: "People's Power".
The organisers said the expo is expected to play an important role in accelerating the country's progress in information technology and providing a platform for Bangladeshi ICT, telecom and electronics manufacturing companies to promote their products domestically and internationally.
More than 100 local and international ICT companies, organisations, ministries, divisions and departments are expected to participate. The expo will showcase the latest IT products, services, digital lifestyles and innovations through around 130 pavilions and stalls.
The event is supported by the ICT Division's a2i Project, the Department of ICT, the National Cyber Security Agency, the Bangladesh Computer Council, Startup Bangladesh Limited and the Office of the Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA). Supporting partners include BASIS, BACCO, ISPAB, e-CAB, BIJF and TMGB.
