MTB, Runner Motors sign MoU for commercial vehicle financing
Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) and Runner Motors PLC have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to facilitate auto lease financing for eligible customers purchasing commercial vehicles from Runner Motors.
The initiative aims to provide convenient, structured financing solutions to SME and corporate customers in logistics, transportation, and other business activities, according to the press release.
The signing ceremony was held on Sunday (20 September) at the MTB Sun Board Room at MTB Centre, the bank's corporate head office.
MTB Additional Managing Director and Chief Business Officer Chowdhury Akhtar Asif and Runner Motors PLC Chief Financial Officer Rajesh Kumar Yadav signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.
MTB Deputy Managing Director Mohammad Mamun Faruk; Head of SME and Agri Banking Division Sanjib Kumar Dey; and Head of SME-CRM Iftekhar Aziz, along with other senior officials of the bank, also attended the signing ceremony.
Under the MoU, Runner Motors will refer prospective SME and corporate customers seeking to purchase commercial vehicles to MTB for consideration of auto lease financing facilities.
The arrangement will also facilitate financing opportunities for future electric vehicle (EV) passenger vehicles, subject to applicable eligibility criteria and regulatory requirements.
The collaboration between MTB and Runner Motors aims to provide convenient and customer-focused financing solutions while supporting business growth and contributing to the development of Bangladesh's automotive sector.
