His expertise spans banking strategy, technology, operations, digital transformation, core banking platforms and financial technology, positioning him to lead the bank in an increasingly complex financial landscape.
Before joining Dhaka Bank, Faiz served as additional managing director and chief operating officer of Eastern Bank PLC, a role he assumed in January 2025. Prior to that, he was the co-founder of Asia FiiT, an international banking and fintech advisory firm headquartered in Singapore.
His previous global roles include chief information and operating officer of AMTD Digital, managing director and chief operating officer of Standard Chartered Bank Singapore, and managing director and chief information officer for wholesale banking in the eastern hemisphere at Standard Chartered Bank. He also served for five years as a director of the Singapore Clearing House Association.

He has also been featured multiple times in the HERoes Global Role Model lists, supported by INvolve, the Financial Times and Yahoo Finance, for his advocacy of women in business. Since 2015, he has been a fellow of the Institute of Banking and Finance, Singapore.
Faiz holds a BCom (Honours) and an MBA from Aligarh Muslim University and has completed executive education programmes at INSEAD and the University of Oxford Saïd Business School. He began his professional career as a management trainee at American Express in 1993.
Chairman of Dhaka Bank PLC Abdul Hai Sarker said the appointment comes at a defining moment for Bangladesh's banking sector, when strong governance, disciplined execution and technology-led transformation are critical. He said Faiz brings deep operational expertise and a proven ability to lead complex organisations while maintaining robust risk management and compliance standards.
Sarker added that the board is confident Dhaka Bank will sharpen its strategic focus, strengthen its balance sheet, accelerate its digital and SME growth agenda, and deliver sustainable long-term value for customers, shareholders and communities under Faiz's leadership.
In his remarks, Osman Ershad Faiz said he is honoured by the trust placed in him by the board and humbled to lead an institution that plays a significant role in Bangladesh's economy. He said his priorities include deepening trust among clients and regulators, modernising platforms and processes, and enhancing services for individuals, businesses and institutions, while remaining committed to industry development and community engagement.
