2 Bangladeshi expatriates killed in Israeli airstrike in Lebanon
The embassy said the two expatriates were staying at their residence in the area when the airstrike took place around 12pm local time.
Two Bangladeshi expatriates were killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Zebdine area of Nabatieh in southern Lebanon today (11 May), according to a condolence message issued by the Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut.
The deceased were identified as Shafiqul Islam, 40, son of Afsar Ali and Ajeya Khatun, from Bhaluka Chandpur in Satkhira Sadar upazila, and Nahidul Islam, 20, son of Md Abdul Kader and Nurunnahar Khatun, from Kadakati in Ashashuni upazila of Satkhira.
The embassy said the two expatriates were staying at their residence in the area when the airstrike took place around 12pm local time.
The Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of the two remittance earners and conveyed condolences to their bereaved family members.
Their bodies have currently been kept at Nabih Berri Governmental University Hospital (NBGUH) in Nabatieh.
