CRAB board meeting highlights renewed SME rating initiative
The Credit Rating Agency of Bangladesh Ltd (CRAB) held its 105th board meeting on 27 October 2025 at Square Centre, Mohakhali, Dhaka, with CRAB chairman Noor A Alam Chowdhury presiding.
Among those present were board directors Tapan Chowdhury, Asif Saad Bin Shams (representing IDLC Finance PLC), Tania Nusrat Zaman, Md Nurul Huda (representing the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh), and Shahed ShamTTs Azad, managing director and CEO of CRAB.
The board discussed key issues, including current market challenges, CRAB's renewed focus on strengthening SME ratings, and strategies to enhance the organisation's contribution to capital market development.
Board members also emphasised the importance of strict adherence to regulatory frameworks to uphold the quality, transparency, and integrity of credit rating services in Bangladesh.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to advancing CRAB's role in supporting informed investment decisions, and strengthening market confidence through credible, data-driven ratings.
