Community Bank signs collaboration agreement with WeGro Technologies
Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has signed a Business Collaboration Agreement with WeGro Technologies Limited to enhance agricultural services and improve the livelihoods of farmers and agri-based MSMEs across Bangladesh.
Under this collaboration, both organisations will work together to expand access to finance, quality inputs and advisory services, and market linkages for farmers. The partnership will also facilitate working capital loans and promote agri-loan disbursement through WeGro's digital platform, enabling farmers to access timely and inclusive financial solutions.
Mr Kimiwa Saddat, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC, and Mr Mahmudur Rahman, Managing Director of WeGro Technologies Limited, signed and exchanged the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations at the bank's Head Office in Dhaka.
Also present at the signing ceremony were Ilham Hasan Chowdhury, Chief Financial Officer; Faiyaz Safir, Chief Operating Officer; John Buckly, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer; and Abdullah Al Saad, Senior Executive of WeGro Technologies Limited. From Community Bank, Dr Md Ariful Islam, Head of Corporate Banking and Head of Business (Branch); Md Mamun ur Rahman, Head of ADC and Head of MD's Coordination Team; and Sharif Hasan Mamun, Head of SME and Agriculture, attended the event.
The partnership underscores both organisations shared vision of strengthening Bangladesh's agricultural value chain through innovation, financial inclusion, and sustainable growth.
