Priyoshop, insightgenie and community bank launch ai credit scoring for msmes

PriyoShop has partnered with InsightGenie and Community Bank Bangladesh PLC to launch Bangladesh's first AI-powered alternative credit scoring system for MSMEs.
The model uses demographic data, purchase patterns, psychometric insights, and user behaviour analytics to deliver real-time, fairer credit evaluations. More than five million Bangladeshi retailers remain excluded from formal banking because they lack collateral or conventional documentation.
Through PriyoShop's retailer data and InsightGenie's AI engine, combined with Community Bank's financial expertise, the system assesses both capacity and willingness to repay. This opens doors for retailers to quickly access flexible credit facilities through secure eKYC, ranging from one to three months, with loan amounts of up to $500. These features are designed to enhance purchasing power and working capital, providing practical growth opportunities for MSMEs.
"This innovation equips MSMEs with smarter financial tools, strengthening their ability to thrive and contribute to long-term growth," said Kimiwa Saddat, managing director of Community Bank.
Asikul Alam Khan, founder and CEO of PriyoShop, said: "The micro and small shopkeepers powering our economy deserve the same opportunities as large businesses. This AI-powered credit scoring system makes that vision real by creating fair access to finance."
Vincent Choy, founder of InsightGenie, added: "Our AI model moves beyond paperwork to recognise real potential, providing MSMEs with credit evaluations that are as dynamic as their businesses."
Senior representatives from PriyoShop, InsightGenie, and Community Bank formalised the agreement. The partnership sets a new benchmark for fintech innovation in Bangladesh by bridging data, AI, and banking to advance financial inclusion for underserved retailers.
