Community Bank, Zaytoon fintech sign Bangla QR agreement
Community Bank Bangladesh PLC and Zaytoon Fintech Limited have entered into a strategic partnership to deliver integrated digital financial solutions, with the aim of advancing financial inclusion across Bangladesh.
Under the partnership, the two organisations will roll out Bangla QR merchant acquiring services to expand access to secure and seamless banking and payment solutions, particularly in geographically dispersed areas and among underserved and marginalised communities.
As per the agreement, Zaytoon Fintech Limited will operate as a payment system operator – white label merchant acquirer (PSO-WLMA), providing Bangla QR–based payment and acquiring services through Community Bank Bangladesh PLC's nationwide distribution network.
The agreement was signed at the head office of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC by Kimiwa Saddat, managing director (current charge) of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC, and Md Arfan Ali, chairman of Zaytoon Fintech Limited, on behalf of their respective organisations.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior executives from both institutions. Representing Community Bank Bangladesh PLC were Shamsul Haque Sufyani, chief operating officer; S K Perves Maraker, head of agent banking, foreign remittance, transaction banking and strategic business unit; Dr Md Ariful Islam, head of corporate banking and head of business (branch); Md Tanjim Morshed Bhuiyan, CITO, head of DFS and deputy head of RMD; and Sarfuddin Md Redwan Patwary, head of operations, among others.
From Zaytoon Fintech Limited, those present included Md Mizanur Rahman, managing director; Sabit Israr, director; and Akber Hossain, director, along with other senior officials.
Both organisations expressed optimism that the partnership would strengthen the country's digital transaction ecosystem and accelerate inclusive access to financial services nationwide.
