Chinese firm senxin to invest $10.81m in mongla epz
 
Senxin BD Co. Ltd., a Chinese company, will invest US$10.81 million to set up a new LED bulb and packaging materials factory in Mongla Export Processing Zone.
An agreement was signed today at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Senxin BD. Md. Ashraful Kabir, Member (Investment Promotion), BEPZA, and Wu Changqin, Chairman of Senxin BD, signed on behalf of their organisations. The signing was witnessed by Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, BSP, ndc, psc, Executive Chairman of BEPZA.
The company will create 717 jobs for Bangladeshi nationals by producing LED lighting products and packaging materials.
Welcoming the investment, BEPZA Executive Chairman Ziaur Rahman said:
"While the readymade garment sector continues to play a vital role in our economy, BEPZA is working to attract and facilitate diversified industries. Senxin BD's investment reflects growing investor confidence in our EPZs, and we will extend all necessary support for their successful operations."
