Mercantile Bank opens four sub-branches to expand banking access
Mercantile Bank PLC has broadened its nationwide presence with the launch of four new sub-branches in Pirojpur, Madaripur, Dhaka and Bhola, aiming to improve access to modern banking services across Bangladesh.
The newly opened sub-branches are Miarhat in Swarupkathi, Pirojpur; Shibchar in Madaripur; Merajnagar in Kadamtali, Dhaka; and Bhola Banglabazar in Bhola.
Mati Ul Hasan, Managing Director, inaugurated the sub-branches as the chief guest on Thursday, 4 June 2026.
Shamim Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director, delivered the welcome speech, and Ashim Kumar Saha, also Deputy Managing Director, gave the vote of thanks.
Deputy Managing Directors, Md. Zakir Hossain, Dr Md. Zahid Hossain, and Tapash Chandra Paul, PhD; Senior Executive Vice Presidents Mohammad Iqbal Rezwan and Md. Abdul Halim, Head of Main Branch, Md. Abdul Awal, Head of Risk Management Division, and DCRO Shamim Ahmed, Head of Branches Division, Md. Aliullah, along with the heads of the controlling branches, local dignitaries, business representatives, media personnel, bank officials, and invited guests, attended.
Addressing the ceremony, Mati Ul Hasan said that, after 27 years of operations, Mercantile Bank PLC remains committed to providing modern, high-quality banking services nationwide.
With the addition of these sub-branches, Mercantile Bank now operates 52 sub-branches, 153 branches, 200 ATM and CRM booths, and 188 agent banking outlets across Bangladesh, the Managing Director said.
The Miarhat Sub-Branch, under Barisal Branch, is located at DK Plaza, Uttar Kowrikhara, 9 No Sutiakathi, Nesarabad (Swarupkathi), Pirojpur.
The Shibchar Sub-Branch, under Madaripur Branch, is located at Abdul Majid Khan Market, 0051-00, 0051-01, Sadar Road, Shibchar Bazar, Madaripur.
