BUFT hosts seminar on career opportunities in Japan

The BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) organised an insightful seminar entitled 'Work in Japan: Shape Your Future' on Tuesday, aimed at guiding students towards global career prospects and helping them understand Japan's professional environment and employment culture.
Held at the BUFT Auditorium, the seminar featured Dr Tadashi Ohtake, an internationally renowned HR consultant, as keynote speaker. He shared valuable insights into Japan's work culture, recruitment process and skill development pathways for international talent, with a special focus on helping Bangladeshi graduates prepare for successful careers abroad.
Mr Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) at BUFT, attended as chief guest, while Professor Dr Engr Ayub Nabi Khan, acting vice-chancellor of BUFT, was present as guest of honour.
Other distinguished guests included Professor Dr Md Abdul Jalil, dean, Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Textile Engineering; Dr Firoz Alam Chowdhury, associate chief researcher, Research Institute of Innovative Technology for the Earth (RITE), Japan; and Mr Kiyoshi Shirako, director, IMAS Company Limited.
In his remarks, Mr Faruque Hassan highlighted BUFT's commitment to preparing globally competitive graduates, capable of contributing to international industries with creativity, skill and adaptability.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Dr Md Alamgir Hossain, treasurer of BUFT, who expressed appreciation to all guests and emphasised the importance of such global collaborations in broadening students' international exposure and employability.
