BRAC University CFO Ariful Islam named new Treasurer

Ariful Islam, Chief Financial Officer of BRAC University, has been appointed as the university's Treasurer by the Honourable President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
Islam, who joined BRAC University in December 2020, currently oversees finance, IT, procurement, international student and scholarship operations, as well as the university's new campus project.
He also serves as Chairman of IPDC Finance PLC and its Risk Management Committee, and as a nominated Director of the Ayesha Abed Foundation.
Previously, he held senior executive positions at British American Tobacco (BAT) Group for over 23 years, across multiple markets in the Asia Pacific region. He has also served as an Independent Director and Chairman of the Board Audit Committee at Toshrifa Industries Limited.
Islam earned a BSc (Honours) in Economics from Scottish Church College, Calcutta University, India, and an MBA in Finance from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK).
