Brac Bank’s careertalk reaches JU and CU to mentor future leaders

BRAC Bank has expanded its flagship career mentorship programme, CAREERtalk, to Jahangirnagar University (JU) and the University of Chittagong (CU), reaffirming its commitment to shaping Bangladesh's future workforce.

Held on 27 April at JU and 22 May at CU, the sessions aimed to bridge the gap between academia and industry by offering students guidance on career planning, leadership development, and workplace readiness.

At Jahangirnagar University, the event was joined by Dr A K M Rashidul Alam, Proctor, and Mahade Hasan, Assistant Professor, Department of Accounting and Information Systems. At CU, attendees included Tanvir Hayder Mohammad Arif, Proctor; Md Abu Bakkar Siddik, Chairman of the Department of Banking and Insurance; and Professors Dr Mohammad Saleh Johur and Dr Mohammad Hasmat Ali, Department of Finance.

From BRAC Bank, Nazmur Rahim, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Alternate Banking Channels; Akhteruddin Mahmood, Head of Human Resources; and Mahbubur Rahman, Head of Small (East) Liability and Chief Bancassurance Officer, participated in the JU session. At CU, Kayesh Chowdhury, Head of Regional Corporate – Chattogram, and Akhteruddin Mahmood led the session, joined by members of BRAC Bank's Young Leaders programme.

Throughout the events, students engaged in dialogue on personal branding, corporate expectations, and the evolving job market. The sessions also offered real-world insights from industry leaders, making CAREERtalk a practical learning experience for participants.

"We are not just a bank—we are builders of human potential," said Akhteruddin Mahmood. "CAREERtalk is part of our mission to mentor and prepare youth to be tomorrow's changemakers."

Nazmur Rahim added, "CAREERtalk enables us to give back by equipping future professionals with the values of integrity, innovation, and impact."

The strong turnout and faculty endorsement at both campuses reflect the relevance and demand for such initiatives. As CAREERtalk continues nationwide, it represents BRAC Bank's broader mission to foster youth empowerment and strengthen Bangladesh's talent pipeline through meaningful mentorship.
