BRAC Bank wins top ten remittance award
BRAC Bank won a Top Ten Remittance Award at the World Conference Series 2026, highlighting its leadership in inward remittances and economic resilience.
The accolade highlights the bank's ongoing commitment to making remittance services faster, safer, and more accessible for expatriate Bangladeshis globally.
BRAC Bank, a leading player in inward remittances, set a new benchmark by channelling US$2.2 billion in wage remittances in 2025. This achievement underscores the bank's expanding role in bolstering foreign currency inflows and sustaining economic stability.
The Centre for Non-Resident Bangladeshi organised the 'World Conference Series 2026 – Branding Bangladesh, Beyond Bangladesh,' where the award was presented.
Zahir Uddin Swapon, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, handed the award to Shahrear Zamil, Head of Remittance and Probashi Banking at BRAC Bank, during a ceremony at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka on 12 April 2026.
Also in attendance were Shama Obaed Islam, State Minister for Foreign Affairs; Md Nurul Hoque, State Minister for Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment; and M S Shekil Chowdhury, Chairperson of the Centre for Non-Resident Bangladeshi.
BRAC Bank delivers enhanced convenience in remittance services via over 90 global exchange partners, supported by secure API connectivity for real-time transactions. Customers enjoy digital onboarding through eKYC, seamless access via the Astha app, and an extensive suite of Probashi Banking solutions.
Beneficiaries nationwide can access funds through the bank's network of 310 branches and sub-branches, along with 1,119 agent banking outlets.
This recognition highlights BRAC Bank's commitment to connecting Bangladesh's diaspora and strengthening formal remittance flows.
