BRAC Bank, SSL Wireless partner to expand financing access for digital entrepreneurs
BRAC Bank and Software Shop Limited (SSL Wireless) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand formal banking and financing access for micro and small entrepreneurs in Bangladesh's growing e-commerce and f-commerce sectors.
According to a press release, the agreement was signed at BRAC Bank's head office in Dhaka on 30 August 2026.
The partnership combines BRAC Bank's SME and inclusive financing services with SSL Wireless' digital commerce network, connecting entrepreneurs to financial services that support business operations and growth.
Merchants, partners and sellers within SSL Wireless' network will have opportunities to access BRAC Bank's banking and financing solutions, subject to the bank's assessment and eligibility criteria.
SSL Wireless will facilitate the financing assessment process, while BRAC Bank's SME customers will also be able to connect with SSL Wireless' platform and explore digital commerce opportunities.
BRAC Bank said supporting underserved entrepreneurs remained central to its SME banking activities. Since its inception, the bank has focused on bringing entrepreneurs into the formal financial system through accessible and relevant banking solutions.
The bank said the partnership would strengthen this commitment by making financial services available through the digital platforms where entrepreneurs already conduct business.
BRAC Bank Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking Syed Abdul Momen said, "Digital commerce is creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs across Bangladesh. Through our partnership with SSL Wireless, we aim to bring banking closer to entrepreneurs where they are already doing business and create a more inclusive pathway from digital commerce to formal finance and sustainable growth."
SSL Wireless General Manager and Head, Banking and Financial Services Institution Mohiuddin Tawfik said, "This partnership with BRAC Bank will help connect offline, e-commerce and f-commerce merchants with formal financing, creating practical opportunities for small business growth and greater financial inclusion."
The collaboration will initially focus on opportunities within SSL Wireless' digital merchant network.
The organisations said it would also provide a basis for exploring and developing broader areas of cooperation as the partnership progresses.
