BRAC Bank partners Govt, Bangladesh Bank to train CMSME entrepreneurs
BRAC Bank, with support from the Ministry of Finance and Bangladesh Bank, has completed the second batch of its month-long Entrepreneurship Development Programme for cottage, micro, small and medium enterprise (CMSME) entrepreneurs in Sirajganj.
The training was conducted under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP), initiated by the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance, with technical and implementation support from Bangladesh Bank.
The closing ceremony of the second batch was held on 4 December at a hotel in Sirajganj, where certificates were awarded to 25 participating entrepreneurs by senior officials of Bangladesh Bank and BRAC Bank.
Nawshad Mustafa, Director of the SME and Special Programmes Department of Bangladesh Bank, attended the event as chief guest. Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking at BRAC Bank, and Md Ayub Ali, Joint Director and Deputy Programme Director of the SME and Special Programmes Department of Bangladesh Bank, were present as special guests. The ceremony was presided over by Biplab Kumar Biswas, Head of Small Business (North), SME Banking, BRAC Bank.
Senior officials from BRAC Bank's SME Banking division also attended the programme.
The month-long training featured expert resource persons from Bangladesh Bank and BRAC Bank and focused on developing entrepreneurial and managerial skills to help CMSME owners grow and sustain their businesses.
The programme is funded by the Asian Development Bank, managed by the SICIP project of the Finance Division, and implemented by Bangladesh Bank's SME and Special Programmes Department.
Speaking at the event, Syed Abdul Momen said BRAC Bank remains committed to supporting grassroots entrepreneurs by combining access to finance with capacity-building initiatives to drive sustainable economic growth.
