BPPA launches first upazila-level e-GP orientation in Sreemangal

The Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) organised its first-ever electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) orientation programme for tenderers at the upazila level in Sreemangal, Moulvibazar, on 9 April 2025.
The event, held at the initiative of BPPA and managed by the Bangladesh Center for Communication Program (BCCP), generated significant enthusiasm among local participants. A total of 35 tenderers attended the daylong session, which they described as informative and beneficial.
Md Islam Uddin, Sreemangal Upazila Nirbahi Officer, delivered the introductory remarks. Representatives from various procuring entities of the upazila were also present.
A.S.M. Shariful Haque, Senior Software Engineer at Dohatec, conducted the orientation session on behalf of BPPA.
Participants received practical training on the use of the e-GP system, enabling them to navigate the digital platform independently. Helena Chowdhury, a female tenderer, said, "Previously, I had to rely on others to submit tenders, which was often inconvenient. But now, I feel confident in managing the process on my own from home."
She praised the support system highlighted during the training, including the e-GP Help Desk, and urged BPPA to work with financial institutions to ease access for female tenderers.
Another participant, Delwar Hossain, shared his experience, stating, "I used to depend on computer shop operators and had to share my password. After this orientation, I feel empowered to handle the tendering process myself."
The next orientation programme will be held on 15 April 2025 at Charfesson upazila.
