BME Beats 2025 held at CUET

Biomedical engineering acts as a vital bridge between medical science and engineering, significantly contributing to improving healthcare, diagnostic methods, and overall human wellbeing, said Professor Dr Mahmud Abdul Muttin Bhuiyan, Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET).

He made the remarks as chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of BME Beats 2025, organised by CUET's Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME), held at the university's central auditorium on Thursday.

Highlighting the critical role of biomedical engineering, Vice-Chancellor said, "By applying engineering knowledge to solve problems in medicine and biology, biomedical engineers are instrumental in developing advanced medical equipment, discovering more effective diagnostic techniques, designing artificial prosthetics, and enhancing healthcare standards." He stressed the urgent need for greater investment in biomedical engineering to address the growing demands of the country's health sector and expressed optimism about the department's future contributions to education and research.
